Job Description
Principle Function: The purpose of the Worship Pastor is to lead the church in Christ centered worship and shape, disciple, and mentor the musical direction of a multi-generational church.
Essential Responsibilities:
Worship Leader - serve as an example of Godly living through a lifestyle of authentic worship
• Commit to ongoing personal spiritual growth to provide our congregation with genuine, Spirit-led leadership in worship
• Lead the congregation in corporate worship for all worship services and gatherings
• Provide pastoral care for those who serve in our Music Ministry.
Coach - identify and equip leaders and volunteers
• Rehearse the choir, praise team, and praise band on a weekly basis
• Coach the leaders of volunteer-led music ministries (audio/visual teams, age graded choirs and/or praise bands, ensembles, etc.)
• Identify potential Music Ministry leaders & volunteers, including potential members for the choir, praise band, praise team, ensembles, and audio/visual team, as well as potential future worship leaders.
Pastor - serve as an integral part of our Ministry Staff Team
• Maintain consistent office hours & participate in all staff meetings.
• Seek to disciple individuals within the congregation & be active in evangelism.
• Participate in hospital visitation and guest outreach
• Work with other staff to perform other duties as necessary.
Administrator - faithfully steward the time and resources of our church and church members
• Develop and manage the Music Ministry budgets, as well as maintaining and purchasing all musical and audio/visual equipment for the Sanctuary
• Coordinate the effort to maintain music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other equipment. Keep informed of current music methods, and materials.
• Schedule and recruit volunteers and team members for services
• Plan, organize, and promote workshops, retreats, and discipleship opportunities for those involved in the worship ministry.
• Arrange and provide music for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries, and other church related activities upon request.
• Manage and utilize Planning Center software (or similar) to manage resources.
• Provide technical oversight for the audio/visual equipment associated with the music ministry
Producer – Oversee elements of production and programming for all corporate worship
• Plan service orders
• Schedule soloists and rehearsal opportunities with the necessary instrumentalists
• Enlist, supervise, direct, and train the technical/multi-media team. Work to further develop the utilization of the technology available in worship. Keep abreast of and make recommendations concerning new technology.
• Assist in the selection and creative design of slides, graphics, and artwork for music, sermon series, etc.
Qualifications:
The Worship Pastor must be capable of leading a multi-generational congregation in worship through various styles of music, ranging from the classic hymns of the faith to current worship music. A thorough knowledge of music is required. He must be innovative, enthusiastic, and must work well in a team staff environment. Proficiency in leading with an instrument when appropriate is a plus. He must excel at building and leading a choir, praise team, and praise band. He must be capable of giving creative direction to all elements of congregational worship, special services, and musical presentations. The Worship Pastor will also provide oversight and training for all additional aspects of FBC Greeneville’s Music & Worship Ministries, including audio/visual teams, multimedia production, and volunteer-led music programs (youth choir, children’s choir, etc.). Technical skills to effectively utilize the necessary equipment and software is required. The Worship Pastor will possess a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Worship Pastor will be spiritually mature and will concur with the church’s statement of faith, as well as its mission, strategy and core values. Most importantly, the Worship Pastor must meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree and/or seminary training in music or performing arts is preferred.
Experience: Five years’ relevant experience is required.
Salary Range 70K - 85K plus benefits

Principle Function: The position of Director of Children and Family Ministries has as its primary purpose the development of a comprehensive plan to minister to the children of First Baptist Church and their families (PreK-5th).
General Functions:
• Displays a spirit of Christian love, fellowship and harmony in all associations with the pastor, staff and the congregation.
• Develop and pursue ongoing, authentic relationships with parents enabling effective ministry.
• Pursues current and latest preschool/children’s methods and procedures through personal study and education and training as related to preschool, children and family ministry.
• Oversee children’s discipleship and community outreach programs.
• Develop and lead the preschool and children’s committees and serve as an ex-officio member and as a resource person.
• Participates in visitation and other ministerial opportunities as it relates to children and families.
• Serve as the direct supervisor of the Assistant Director of Children and Family Ministries.
• Serve as the direct supervisor of the Director of Mother’s Day out.
• Responsible to the Senior Pastor.
• Works in cooperation with and supports other staff members in planning, scheduling, and developing the ministries of FBC.
• Assists in the daily functions of FBC.
• Attends all scheduled staff meetings.
• Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the Cooperative Program and is willing to become or already is a member of First Baptist Church Greeneville.

2. Collaborate with the Director of Children and Family Ministries to enlist Preschool and Children’s Division Directors through the Nominating Committee and assist the Division Directors in enlisting teachers.
3. Provide encouragement and support for teachers in the preschool and children’s departments focusing on birth through Kindergarten.
4. Plans and promotes the activities for the preschool department through collaboration with the Director of Children and Family Ministries.
5. Recruits, manages, and schedules the volunteers of the extended session and greeters for the department desk.
